Selling on eBay (How To Sell On eBAY For Beginners)

Thank you for visiting my post selling on eBay. I will try to show you how to sell on eBay for beginners.

I will then demonstrate an alternative to eBay that I recommend that you consider and which could change your life.

Wealthy Affiliate eBay

FIRST WHO ARE THEY?

eBay Inc. is a US multinational e-commerce company based in San Jose, California that facilitates consumer-to-consumer and business-to-consumer sales through its website.

eBay was founded by Pierre Omidyar in the fall of 1995 and has become a remarkable success of the Internet bubble.

OPEN AN eBay ACCOUNT.

To open an eBay account, first, go to the eBay home page and click on the “Register” link.

On the next screen, enter your full name, email address and password.

Then submit your information to receive your user ID.

You are now ready to use eBay!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

With an eBay account, you can bid on auction items, buy products immediately, and even become an online seller by selling your own items to people around the world.

After submitting your account information, you will be redirected to a “Success” screen.

On this screen, you will be informed that eBay has automatically chosen a user ID for you.

This is the name other eBayers will know you about – when you bid, buy or sell, other users will see this name.

If you don’t like the username you were given, change it to something you prefer.

START USING eBay.

Felicitation, your account is now activated and you can start using eBay.

An email will be sent to you from eBay with an official “Welcome” message to the email account you have provided.

You will need to provide payment information to buy or sell on eBay.

You will have to enter this information if you are trying to buy, sell or bid on anything on the site.

eBay accepts a variety of payment options but incites users to use a PayPal account.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS.

Wealthy Affiliate eBay Q and A

Q.HOW DO I CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICE?

R. Visit our help page to contact customer service for a link to contact us as well as additional details that may help you find an answer to your question.

We are available by phone all week, from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Pacific time for most matters.

Q. What should I do if I have a technical problem on eBay?

R. From time to time if you encounter a problem we recommend that you try the following steps.

1-Clear you’re browsing history.

2-Try to access the same page in another browser.

3-Check your Internet or your mobile connection.

4-Make sure your security software does not interfere with site features.

5-Disable any browser add-ons or plug-ins.

If you have no results you will need to contact customer service.

Q. How do I change my store name?

R. You can change the name of your store as often as you like.

We recommend that you carefully consider all updates as the bookmarks your customers have created will no longer work after the changes.

You can visit our help page for more details.

Q. Who is responsible for a package lost in transit?

R.

The party paying the shipping label is generally responsible

for any loss or damage that occurs during transportation.

If you have sold an item and it is missing on the way to its destination, we recommend that you work with the courier of your choice to locate it.

If it becomes clear that the package cannot be recovered, a refund must be issued to your customer.

If you have returned purchase and it appears to be lost on the way back to the seller, it will be treated differently depending on who purchased/provided the return shipping label.

We recommend that you contact customer service to have specific details reviewed for appropriate next steps.

Q. What is the difference between a personal account and a professional account?

R. Personal accounts are for occasional purchases and sales on eBay.

Business accounts are a good option for sellers who want to:

. Sell items purchased exclusively for resale.

. Make items and sell them for profit.

. Regularly sell many goods.

. Buy items for their business

Professional sellers can register with a company name that will appear in correspondence and invoices.

They can also benefit from tax advantages and benefit from discounts on eBay fees.

To become a professional seller, you can either change your personal account to a professional account in your account settings or register a new professional account.

  1. Thank you for this guide on selling on eBay!
Selling physical stuff seems to have a lot of hassle and needs lots of work, even with dropshipping where you don’t touch the product because you still might get refund requests and you need to deal with returns and disbutes.
I think I will check the alternative you recommend for affiliate marketing, it seems a bit more relaxing than selling on eBay and other marketplaces.
    Thanks again!

    • Thank you for your comments Amjad. For some people, the reputation of eBay known throughout the world is the most important criterion in the search for additional income and the disadvantages of this kind of business do not bother them. Good luck in your efforts to find the perfect vehicle for your needs.

  2. I believe that wealthy affiliate has one of the best online training there is when it comes to starting an online business. When you look at the community, the tools, and the training along with the success story you know that you are a part of something great. I would encourage anyone to become a part of this community that is helping so many people to have online success.

    • We would not have a very broad vision of the future if we did not realize all that is offered to us to start a business. Everything that is offered to us and the promise of our leaders to continue to innovate should encourage us to surpass ourselves to succeed.

  3. eBay has been around for some time now and many people make money and are still making money this way. Although eBay provides a way to make money, in my opinion, this site cannot sustain a person with a good steady way to make money. To get in on the real money and go full-time Wealthy Affiliate has the kind of training that will help.

    • Thank you for your comments Norman and indeed I believe that for the quality/price nothing compares to Wealthy Affiliate although I do not have a great experience of the companies which offer the same kind of service.

  4. You have provided some detailed and concrete information to help anyone who is interested in selling on eBay. It is not my preferred way to make money, but I will pass this info on to those who have an interest.
